ERASMUS EXCHANGE AMIENS – ALMUÑÉCAR: DAYS 4 AND 5

DAY 4

On 1st October, the Erasmus group visited some of Málaga ‘s most iconic sights, such as the Atarazanas Market, Calle Larios, the Alcazaba and the harbour. The itinerary also included a visit to Málaga Cathedral and the Roman Theatre. They also had the opportunity to sample traditional local cuisine at a restaurant in the city. It was certainly a day to remember.

DAY 5

On their final day in the Sexitan region, both the French pupils and teachers received small souvenirs from our school, thus becoming part of the ‘Sexi’ family. After breakfast, we set off for the historic centre of Almuñécar to visit San Miguel Castle and the Siete Palacios Cave. The students learnt first-hand about the history and the commercial, social and economic importance of our fortress, whilst also admiring the archaeological remains from the Phoenician, Roman and Muslim periods. We would like to thank Almuñécar Town Council for its collaboration with schools on the Erasmus+ programmes, which allowed free entry to the main monuments and places of interest. Once the cultural visit was over, the Spanish and French pupils had the rest of the day free to enjoy their last afternoon together.

It was an unforgettable week, and we at IES Antigua-Sexi would like to thank the pupils for their attitude and behaviour, as well as the teaching staff for their collaboration in ensuring the activities ran smoothly. Have a safe journey back to Amiens, and see you next time!
