EUROPE DAY

Today, Thursday the 28th of May we have celebrated “Europe Day” ( 9th May). It has been an activity coordinated by both the Erasmus and Bilingual Programmes. The 2º ESO students, in groups, have presented some projects about 13 European countries: Ireland, Hungary, France, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Ukraine, Austria, Rumania, Spain, The Netherlands and Belgium. Each country had: an Introduction with basic information, Places to visit, Festivals/Culture/Traditions, Famous people, Gastronomy, Language corner and Reasons to visit it. The English, French, Lengua Castellana, Technology and History Departments have been involved in the activity and the students have spoken in different languages when they were presenting their countries. It has been a very constructive activity as we have learnt a lot of interesting things about some European countries. Also, as we have students from many different countries in our school, this has been the perfect opportunity to share a bit of their identitiy and language with us.

We hope our students´ curiosity has been awakened and they all have now the desire to visit some of these European countries in the future and learn a variety of languages.

We must congratulate all our 2º ESO students for their effort and enthusiasm. It is not always easy to talk in front of a big audience but they have overcome their fears and have succeeded. A big clap to all of them!!
